What a great day!  Our first water patrol!  It was hot and muggy and we were happy to cool off.  First there was the long hike down to the wetlands, followed by crossing the raging torrent by the bridge.   Then our mom and Grandma Annie showed us how to jump in the water and retrieve floating things.  Some of us thought that looked pretty fun and waded on in, soon to discover our swimming legs.  Others needed a little help from Brian, who held us up until we discovered how easy it was.   We blew bubbles, dragged around sticks, and even tried to grab Annieís bumper.  (Donít even THINK about it kid!)  Then thereís nothing like a roll in the warm grass to dry off, followed by the zippy hike back through the field.  Boy, that water sure does give you a buzz!  After romping and rasseling all the way home, it felt good to be back in the box with our soft blankets.    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

The pups have certainly reached the Marble Stage, where opening that gate results in them scattering is all directions, just like dumping a bowl of marbles.  Only marbles at least  eventually stop rolling so they are a lot easier to catch.

Don't Fence Me In

I'll unlatch the gate, everybody get ready to follow me!

We are SEVEN weeks old!

That makes us almost-sort-of-kind-of big dogs!  We are getting good at our daily training sessions, where we almost-sort-of-kind-of know how to stand, sit, and come.  The come part is especially fun as we love those treats.  We come in EVERY time, except for exceptional distractions like sparrows chirping, frogs jumping, dandelion puffs, really cool slimy sticks, crayfish holes, and of course mud.  We now take long walks alone around our property with Kate or Brian and think being an only kid is pretty cool.  Life is so great now, we can hardly imagine what eight weeks old will bring!
